For the price you would probably struggle to get a garage in London so it’s no wonder this caught my eye when I saw it listed. A great bargain for any investor especially one who is seeking to get onto the buy to let ladder. A 25% deposit will be in the region of £17,500 (if you paid the asking price), but if you know me, I always negotiate like the BBC’s Apprentices – even in a pound shop!
From the pictures it seems as if the property has been recently renovated to a good standard. It isn’t the prettiest of properties therefore, not much going for it in terms of kerb appeal I’m afraid. Also, the bathroom is downstairs through the kitchen which isn’t great but not a massive issue for rental. Just take all your clothes in the shower and make sure the visitors are in the front room (stairs go from the second reception room).
Close to the Town Centre and nearby schools of note are the Abu Bakr Boys School, St Patrick’s Catholic Primary, Croft Academy and not too far from other amenities adds further appeal to this property. I would take a close look at the quality of the renovation including the items which require major outlay. If done well I would certainly take a punt due to the easily achievable and healthy potential yields.
